Mary C. Martin

Mary C. Martin, 73, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 surrounded by her beloved family after a short battle with cancer.

She was born in Blairsville, Georgia February 21, 1940, to Carl B. Carlisle and Willa Mae Spiva. She retired after 30 years with the Department of Family and Children Services.

She was a very dedicated mother and grandmother. She always had time for her children. Her memory will live on through them.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank J. Martin, Jr. , as well as two brothers, WilliamBill Carlisle and Richard Dickie Carlisle. She is survived by her children, Pegi Bailey John, Penny Brockbank Thomas and Lisa Hodges Stanley of Savannah ; grandchildren Jessica Bailey , Kathryn Bailey, Brandy Cribbs , Eddie Lewis and John Lewis; nephews Ryan Carlisle , William Carlisle and Robby Carlisle; nieces Susan Carlisle and JenniferRahn.

Graveside services will be private.

Remembrances may be sent to Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, 412 Parkersburg Road, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
